When I first saw this collection in the store and looked at Ariel, I wasn't very impressed. Compared to Snow White, Jasmine and Belle, Ariel just wasn't as beautiful in comparison. I thought she out did Rapunzel style wise but she was not my favorite. I had no idea I was the only one who felt that way. I went to my local Disney Store the day she came out, which is usually dead and was dead when I bought the other dolls for my collection, but on that day there were 50 or so people all jammed in there wanting this one doll. I was lucky to even get drawn that day! Then I hear stories of it being sold out in literally fourteen minutes online. Out of curiosity, I looked online to see how much its going for now, its almost triple the amount of the other dolls.

Until this day, I had no clue how popular Little Mermaid really is.

But I guess getting over my shock and surprise that people wanted Ariel more then Jasmine or Belle (my personal favorites for this collection), I'll say alittle about the doll itself. Ariel's dress is beautiful even if I don't like it as much as the other dresses. It is detailed to the last thread and is what makes her stand out. Unlike Rapunzel, she looks exactly like her cartoon counterpart and I love how her red hair shimmers in the light. I also like how her and Eric do face each other and seem genuinely happy together unlike Rapunzel and Flynn, where Flynn looked like a creep standing behind her. But Eric looks more like a regular ken doll rather then a collectable (something the other men atleast looked like even if they weren't as nice looking as their mates).

Overall I give the dolls a 3/5, good but not perfect, even if by popularity everyone else in the world disagrees.

Beautiful Doll!! Love it!

The Ariel and Eric Doll set is my favorite set in this collection. The red hair mermaid is beautiful and gracefully standing with Eric. I like how Eric is face to face with Ariel unlike Belle. Her dress has detailed design. It is a great collection set! must have for Mermaid fan!
