i bought this to decorate a birthday cake, and it worked out great for my three year old. it has all the main characters, so no one is missing. but the "background" that comes in the box is not sturdy enough to really keep around for extended play, and the figurines are too small to do much "playing" with - they are better for display. note that sebastian and flounder are very small and potential choking hazards.

My oldest child loves this movie and will often watch it weekly. More often if we can tolerate it and allow it. :)

This started life on the birthday cake. The cake is long gone, the toys are still here and going strong.

This set of figurines is solid and well made. And have taken up a place of honor in my shower, which the kids use more than I do... They are well made and solidly finished. Besides Ariel the one they like the best is Ursula. Starting to show a bit of wear after a year of showers and being kicked out of the way by me but that is to be expected... The set exceeded everyone one of my expectations for longevity and holding up to constant playtime.

They are rigid and fairly hard. So if you are looking for something soft this is not it. If you want something that will hold up and last, in the toy box, in the shower, in the hands of the kids then go for it.

Exactly what I needed

I ordered the Disney characters to put on a 2 tiered cake. I prefer to put the plastic character on the cake vs making them out of fondant. They were the exact scale. My 3 yr old had had fun playing with them since her party. I am glad that Disney sells the characters this size to most of their movies. It makes cake decorating a snap.
