Gort and Klaatu Are Out Of This World!

Gort and Klaatu Collectors Figure Set "Klaatu, Barada, Nikto", everyone remembers the immortal phrase from The Day The Earth Stood Still, and finally great replica figures have been manufactured by Amok Time. I Just received my Gort and Klaatu figure set today and all I can say is this is an absolutely amazing toy! Scaled at twelve inches the noble Klaatu comes with an incredible likeness to actor Michael Rennie. The figure comes styled in a perfect replica space suit with helmet and alternate interchangeable head. The quality of the costume is about the best I have seen in a twelve inch figure, it has a metallic look and unique feel. Klaatu is extremely posable with 20 points of articulation and a figure stand . The menacing Gort stands at an impressive sixteen inches and features moving arms, waist, feet and head. All this and a massive collectors box with great art, make this the perfect gift for any science fiction fan. The Day the Earth Stood Still is one of my favorite movies and this figure set is the ultimate addition to my collection and I strongly urge everyone to pick this limited edition set up before it is gone .

Klaatu Barada Nikto!

I first saw "The Day the Earth Stood Still" in 1957, as a 7 year old kid. When Gort came out of the space
ship, raised his visor and started blasting it scared the hell out of me. I still get goose bumps everytime
I watch the movie. For years I've searched for a model of Gort only to find what was on the market to be
cheap, cartoonish figures that bore little resemblance to the robot in the movie. I'm happy to say that my
search is over! The Gort and Klaatu figurines by Amok Time are incredibly realistic. Gort looks as menacing
and awe-inspiring as he did in the movie, with exacting details and a true-to-life metallic finish. Klaatu is
equally impressive, complete with suit and device to study life on other planets, crafted to exact standards,
along with a nice display stand. Klaatu comes with 2 heads, one with his space helmet on and one without
which bears a striking resemblance to Michael Rennie. I can't say enough about Gort and Klaatu, the price
and the speedy service from Amazon. 5 stars and highly recommended!

The Day The Earth Stood Still Gort and Klaatu Collectors Figure Set

Based on the reviews here I decided I wanted these as I am a big fan of the original movie. Not to mention Gort alone is an impressive collector piece for those that are collecting robots as I am. Klaatu in this set though has an incredible likeness to Michael Rennie, and the fact he has the helmet and translator makes it all the more impressive. I shopped around and did not find it cheaper and in fact saw it for twenty plus dollars higher in a couple places. I imagine once this is bought up the price will increase dramatically. Partly because of the classic movie, partly due to the level of detail that went into these, and finally the limited number. These come in a nice box with a panel that opens so that you can see them behind a clear plastic window. They are both quite large at 12 and 16 inches so you will need a tall area to sit them. They are both very detailed and the set of them is not unreasonably priced. Amazon has the best price I have seen. Shipping is $17.99 which seems a bit high, however it is well packed and arrives safely in a timely manner.
