So far, so good

We purchased the Intex 16'x32' Ultra Frame Pool in April of 2013 and it came with a standard pump (non-chlorinating) and sand filter, however we also purchased separately the Intex Sand Filter and Salt Water Generator (SWG) as we wanted to avoid as much long term recurring chemical costs as possible. The pool was easy and strait forward to setup, although I HIGHLY recommend the following installation tips:

INSTALLATION TIP #1: Prepare your installation area in advance. Make sure you have as near perfect leveling of your surface as possible. If installing on lawn, clear the area and pour sand, then get it level. If installing on concrete as I did, make sure its level first. If not, you can use corrugated polystyrene foam panels with play sand underneath them to level the surface out.

INSTALLATION TIP #2: Use at least 3 adults to set it up. 4 is even better. As the pool fills up with water you will need to pull on the edges at the bottom to keep it from wrinkling the bottom of the pool. I installed mine with the help of only 3 1-12 year old girls :-) We did it, but it was hard and having adults would have been better.

INSTALLATION TIP #3: Get a spay bottle and put a teaspoon of liquid dishwashing soap and fill the rest with water. Spray the poles with this before you try to slide them through the liner holes. Or, lube them up with vaseline or something similar. It's very hard to push the poles all the way through otherwise.

Also, for long term usability and on-hand redundancy, I highly recommend purchasing additional parts directly from Intex's main website. Especially hoses, gaskets, fittings and plastic pieces in general. We've already had the hose for the return coming from the sand filter back into the pool spring a leak and had to replace it. Luckily we had an extra hose from the original sand filter that came with it which we did not use due to the upgraded Salt Water System and Sand Filter pump we purchased separately.

Overall, I think the pool is of good quality and for the price if the liner, pump, sand filter and SWG lasts only 3-5 years before replacement then its still worth it.
