A great deal!
By Steve C
I've been riding bikes since I was a kid. I'm not an expert, but I know something about them. You get a lot of bike for the very reasonable price - there's 21 speeds, Shimano components, front suspension, quick release seat and front wheel, attachment screws for a bottle cage. The frame is nicely engineered, not bulky or sloppy like some bikes I looked at for my daughter. It was easy to put together and took way less than an hour - you do need to have the tools (metric allen wrenches, phillips head screwdriver, crescent wrench) and be able to understand directions that apply to different options for different bikes. Brakes and shifting didn't need any adjustments, everything worked right from the start. Schwinn might not be the first name you think of for bikes these days, but they are worth looking at.

Great bike
By Timothy J. Fiorillo
I bought this bike and the 26 inch model for my daughters. The 26 inch model went together quickly and needed no deraileur adjustments. This bike went together quickly but needed significant deraileur adjustments. The instruction manual does describe how to adjust the deraileur but you would be better off watching a video on youtube.
I was happy with the quality.

Nice starter bike with gears
By Amazon Shopper
We bought this for our daughter's 8th birthday in the Fall. She is on the taller side and can ride it but it will be perfect in the Spring. She likes to ride it and has ridden it around the neighborhood but we haven't clocked tons of miles on it yet. We didn't give it the last star because the assembly directions were not clear and we had to pay a bike shop to finish the assembly.
