Boba Fett Vintage
By Shademan12
Boba Fett: Ruthless bounty hunter. From Star wars, Boba Fett became a classic fan favorite even though he only said 29 words in the movies (30 if you count his scream into the scarlaac) To celebrate the ESB's birthday, Boba Fett (Along with many other figures) are being released in packaging reminiscent of the Kenner days in the 70s and 80s.

Packaging: Wonderful. I love how the front is exactly how Kenner's was (sans the sticker advert) and if you don't think it is; BOOM there is a comparison picture on the back with adverts for the other figures and a short description about why the packaging is so simple. I normally don't care how i open the packaging, butt found myself using a knife to carefully extract the figure with least possible damage to the card itself.

Figure: It's Boba Fett. What more is there to say? It is hard not to compare it to the 2007 30th anniversary figure... so I will compare as a list :)
Helmet: The 2007 Helmet was a darkish green with a moveable antenna. There wasn't much special about it. The paint was scratched and the dent was there. the 2010 is now light sand green with a flimsy antenna that doesn't move at all. Also watch out! The 2010 helmet is removable. I REALLY don't like that. In ESB and RotJ, Boba Fett never shows his face... so why does this figure celebrating the movie have a removable helmet? And why is it Temura's face? (Don't respond with the Clone **** because that is way after ESB). Not only will this be a killjoy for hardened Old-School Fett fans, but this really constricts pose-ablility in the head because it is limited to where the head can go. The 2010 is pretty good with the head articulation but runs the risk of the helmet sliding on the head or even not moving in the way you wish it to move. (i.e. he cannot look down) Also the face behind the helmet isn't very threatening or original. It is just another clone head in a white cap thing.

Torso: The torso on the 2007 was pretty good. There were scratches and dents. The 2010 is also the same but there are more scratches and it has a more metallic look. This is because the green color is combined with the silver to make it look scratched up. Even the backplate is scratchy! Nice. The wookie braids are more detailed than the 2007 figure but they don't really matter. The 2010 torso also has the slight ability to move up and down like a ball joint instead of the 2007's rotate only. Also the 2010 has a different cape than the 2007. 2007 had a small green cloth cape. The 2010 has a larger tan cape with a big brown stripe across the middle. It still has the holes in it.

Arms: 2010 is great. The coloring is accurate to the movie. If you get the figure and wonder why Boba Fett has a bluer suit and green gauntlets, then you probably are not a hardcore fan. In ESB he had green gauntlets and and blue hued suit. In RotJ he had the more familiar tan and red suit. Anywhoo the figure has better shoulder articulation. 2007 had shoulder pads that blocked the shoulder joint slightly so he could not straight up wave his hand in the air... and he definitely cared. (bad joke) Now the shoulder pads are included int eh joint. The join is colored like the shoulder pads and is barely noticeable and works much better than the 2007 shoulder joint. Again the detail on the shoulder pad is great. The paint is scratched up an it has the silvery look. The only thing wrong is that the mythosaur skull on his shoulder pad is smaller because it is below the joint. As we move down the arm we see that not only are the gauntlets different, the fuel line on the right is a different style. The 2007 Boba Fett fuel line was accurate to the "T" but was a hinderance for the elbow joint. It was in the way and restricted his movements. THe 2010 has remedied this by making the fuel line follow the elbow joint instead of sticking all the way off into space.

Waist/Legs: Normally this doesn't get too much attention from reviewers, but in this case, the attention is warranted. The 2007 boba Fett had only a belt of pouches and two larger light beige pouches, one on each hip. This 2010 figure has the small pouches on the sides and the two beige pouches have been replaced with slightly smaller, blueish pouches. However this is not the main focus. There is another belt around Boba Fett's waist and attached to it is a holster. (more on that later ;D). Aside from that, the legs are the same as 2007s except the thigh pouches are more square, the coloring is blueish and the feet are without spikes.

Jetpack: The second bane of the 2007 figure was the jetpack. It was reported to be very loose. I never had the problem, but saw other reviewers saying that they did. Well... the 2010 figure cannot keep his jetpack on. Before i get too much into the bashing, the positives. The 2010 jetpack is overall green and looks like it has been though a toddler's mouth and then the vacuum. Perfect look. It is weathered and beat up yet still a work of art. The 2007 jetpack was cleaner and more colorful than the 2010 jetpack and, for the figure, it was great, but for the movie, the 2010 looks the greatest. However the nozzles look kinda cheap because there is no silver paint on them. Now then: It will not stay on. I am tempted to glue it on, but wont. you have to be very careful.

Gun: Boba Fett's gun is a E-33 carbine. In other words: Star war's equivalent to a sawed-off rifle. In 2007 it was a solid black plastic piece. In 2010 we get a solid black painted plastic piece. It looks great. The butt and handle of the rifle is now brown and the muzzle is now silver. All over the body of the gun are silver scratches. It seems like a painted versoin o the 2007 model. However; don't be fooled. THis weapon is not as sturdy in the 2010 model as it is in the 2007 model. It is also more prone to bending than the 2007 model is. but it looks great. In Boba Fett's hands, it is a great look. Just not a sturdy one.

2nd Gun: that's right the SECOND gun. This is the elusive Boba Fett pistol that had the whole star wars community a-buzz awhile back. (if you didn't know about hat, its okay, just means you have a life). The pistol sits snuggly in the holster on the back of Boba Fett's right thigh. While it looks uncomfortable to sit on, realize that it is supposed to be cloth and free from the thigh and attached to the belt like a gunslinger's pistol (that was what Lucas was going for in ESB with Boba Fett). In the packaging before you open it, you might not even see the weapon. It is truly hidden. Take it out and you will notice two things: Looks great! and omg itz bent! Because of the way Boba Fett's back leg is sculpted, the pistol will be bent in order to fit in the holster fully. This is not really a major problem. THe muzzle is thin so it would get bent sooner or later. The pistol takes some work to get into his right hand and even more work to get into his left, but once in, it is a firm hold and Boba Fett wont let it go without a fight. Unlike his E-33. The handle and body of the pistol are maroon-ish while the muzzle is silver.

Overall: Great figure for display, but for playtime, I'd suggest the more durable 2007 incarnation. The articulation is great but not as on-par as the 2007, and the weapons are detailed and accurate to the movie. It is also great to have a Boba Fett representing both movies. The Card is also something you will want to save especially if you are a collector.

Pros:
Boba Fett
Two guns
Holster
Details
ESB coloring
articulation
Fuel line on elbow is fixed

Cons:
Removable helmet with clone/Jango head (again -_- 2007 is better because it doesn't have the removable helmet.. which is actually very easy to lose)
Head is hard to pose because of removable helmet (can't look down)
Guns either too tight or too loose in hand
Helmet is flimsy (gotta fit the head without looking too big)
Weaker plastic for E-33
Jetpack is too loose

Great sculpt - for collectors, not kids
By Enjolras
Overall, this is a beautiful figure. I agree with the other reviewer that parts of the figure can be a pain, but when you get it to pose the way you want to it's simply beautiful. I love the paint and sculpt job, the cloth, the wookie braids - easily the best of all the Boba Fetts (and there are a lot of them). Here are a few other things I'd note:

First, the jetpack sometimes is a bit loose, but it is possible to push it in tight. I actually found that pushing it in over a bit of the cloth helps secure it. After doing that, I've had no problems.

Second, the head is a bit of a pain to move, but not too bad. Just remove the helmet before moving the head. That way you don't bend the helmet.

Third, he doesn't hold his rifle well with just one hand. It looks like it's pointing too high. It is possible to pose him holding the rifle trigger with his right hand, and the barrel with the left. Not only does this fit the figure, but it looks pretty awesome!

That said, because of these issues, I'd really only recommend this figure for collectors, not kids. He's great to pose, but probably wouldn't last long in a 5-year old's bedroom.

I'm dealing in absolutes
By Country Crafter
This is the best boba fett action figure ever made. It has balljoint arms, elbows, knees, ankles, waist, and head. His wrists are swivel. This is a very detailed figure and his helmet can come off revealing a very detailed clone face with a couple of scares on it. He comes with a detachable jet pack and his well known blaster, very detailed. He also comes with his little blaster in his holster, it does not come out but boba fett never needed to blasters to do his job. His cape is very good to it has the two bullet holes in it. His jetpack is a little loose (nothing realy to be concerned about) but I fixed it with a leftover dental rubberband. I highly recommed this figure.
